Most cats are prone to disease and illness as they age. Outdoor cats and specific pure breeds, such as the British Shorthair or Russian Blue, are more prone to disease than indoor ones, mixed breeds, or others. Usually, by the time pet parents look to insure their pet, it is often too late, as the pet had already fell ill or sustained an injury, and most plans do not cover pre-existing conditions.
To avoid receiving sticker shock or making painful decisions at the vet, we recommend getting your cat insured for at least a Bronze level, but preferably a Silver level plan no later than by the time it turns 5 years old.
